About Well Brain Therapy
Our Approach
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) works by changing the way you think and act. This is how talk therapy can change how you feel. CBT is an evidence-based (studied and proven effective) treatment that trains your brain to be more positive.
In addition to CBT, we also teach mindfulness meditation. Mindfulness simply means being present in the moment. Often we are ruminating about what happened before or worrying about what will happen next. More happiness can often be found in the present moment.
Who we Serve
Young people dealing with stress, anxiety, and sadness
Children and teens coping with medical illness
Parents needing support (parenting is the hardest job)
Adults on the autism spectrum
Skills we Build
I. Shift Your Mindset (Cognition)
II. How to Take Action (Behavior)
Our Process
Our process is goal-oriented and evidence-based. We want to help young people learn new habits to be able to get unstuck from overthinking and handle stress and anxiety on their own.
“Meghan Johnson has been an ideal fit for patients in challenging circumstances. As a fellow provider, I appreciate the care she puts into planning an individualized and evidence-based course of treatment. She connects with children, communicates with parents, and monitors progress to lead to improvement. I trust the providers of Well Brain.”
